No. Unfortunately it is practically meaningless to provide an estimate from emailed images. Images
of the vehicle need to capture certain information. This information gives us clues as to the extent of
damage. We also need information that is nearly always never provided.
Generally we do not provide free quotations. If we have a history with you or you have arrived at our
shop through personal recommendation then we would not normally charge for a formal estimate. If
you are shopping around for quotes then we are more than happy to give you a verbal estimate of
the scope of repairs. If you are seeking written quotations to secure a third party settlement then
we would charge a nominal fee. Typically from $50.00 up to 4% of the Estimate total. This amount is
100% refunded from the cost of repairs should you choose Burwood Panelworks.
Yes we have courtesy (loan) cars. We do not charge for this service however you are required to
return them in the same condition and with the same level of fuel (usually > ¾) as provided.
Yes! We take the quality of our workmanship very seriously. We have a detailed written limited Lifetime Warranty.*
* Warranty for refinish work is capped at five years and subject to substrate condition.
If the accident damage was severe enough to require a tow truck then there is no way to write a meaningful estimate without partly dismantling and putting the vehicle on a hoist. You would need to have the vehicle towed to our workshop.
Ring us! Generally speaking if you are making a claim on your comprehensive insurance then you are bound by the PDS. (You did read that didn’t you?) Otherwise you can get anyone to fix your car. Contact us and we can send you our easy to understand flow diagrams for not at fault claims.
Ultimately the best insurer offers clear ‘one quote’ choice of repairer. If your insurer states in the PDS that they ‘may choose to source alternative quotes’, then be aware that this is code for no choice! Every job gets assessed regardless of how many quotes are provided.
Many insurance companies (Youi, RACV, Comminsure) charge extra for choice of repairer. Be aware and tick the box when renewing. Read the PDS! Don’t compare apples with oranges. Insurance is no different to any other service or commodity you will buy. You get what you pay for!
Currently the decision to open Saturday (morning) is taken on a week to week basis. Simply ring during the week to confirm.
